When I got in the Generator set industry, things were different.
There was clear role of manufacturer, distributor, dealer, contractor, engineering community, end users, etc.
Companies worked on what they represented. Parts were purchased thru a supply chain. Discounts were clear.
Over the years everyone works on eveything. I don't neccesaarily agree with what we've morphed into, but I relaized I have to adjust.
My intent is to strengthen the industry. I have identified two issues:
1. One is rentals with out the threat of being end-arounded and room for a mark-up. So I'm building a fleet.
2. The other is being able to buy parts at a reasonable rate for a mark-up and to be competative.
When I was working for distributors, I had trouble buying under list. In the old days you would recieve a discount for resale. I am going to offer a discount for parts so you can be competative and still make a margin. a majority of the parts will be in stock. If not, they are not that long to bring in. If you have any issues getting CAT/Olympian parts, please contact me.
I'd love to have gen set ID and part numbers, but please provide me with as much information as possible? I will be a pitbull. You will find you get better pricing and parts quicker. We can partner on getting your service to the customer to improve.

Price and availability are what sells parts. But it doesn't hurt to have a knowledgable, experienced person help you. And in the end, it is all about relationships !
